The 2023-2024 Rittman High School Local Scholarships are coming soon! The application will be available in google classroom. We will invite you to join the classroom in December when the application opens. Once the completed application is turned in, you can email Mrs. Davis to request recommendation forms.  The RHS Common Application is due February 9 by 3:00 pm and your Letters of Recommendation are due February 23 by 3:00 pm. Wayne County Community Foundation offers other scholarships, so please consider completing an application for those scholarships. Don't forget to look at Wayne County, Regional, State, and National Scholarships!

AAA School Safety Patrol Grant - five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who once served as a member of the AAA School Safety Patrol. Students must complete an application which requests information on academic record, safety patrol experience, in-school and out-of-school activities and references. Additionally, you must write a minimum 500 word, double-spaced essay, provide a high school transcript and a letter of recommendation. Finalists will be chosen for a phone interview. AES Engineers Scholarship - award is $500. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of character as determined by evaluating submitted essays.  Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question: When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful?  What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?  Essays must be submitted to: scholarships @ aesengineers.com. Alpha Theta Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior or currently-enrolled graduate pursuing a career in education. Selection is based on academic and attendance records of the candidates, on economic need, and on the likelihood of successful completion of a teacher licensure program. American Association of Drilling Engineers Appalachian Chapter Scholarship - twenty (20) $1,000 scholarships. Upon completion of freshman year, students will become eligible to apply for one of three planned $2,000 annual scholarships which may be in effect for the remaining three years of college. The total potential aid could be $7,000 over 4 years. To qualify candidates must meet the following criteria: graduate from high school with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, scores a minimum 27 on the ACT, be enrolled in an accredited college in Pennsylvania, Ohio, or West Virginia, be a US citizen and submit a fully completed and signed AADE Scholarship Application. Aspiring Fashion Professional - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Select the link for more information and an application.  Deadline:  June 1

Burger King Scholars - up to $50,000 in scholarship awards. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, work experience and community involvement. Select the appropriate link for more information on eligibility and to apply.  Deadline: December 15

Charles L. Warren Memorial Heritage Scholarship - a one-time $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to four (4) outstanding high school seniors and may be used at any Ohio college or university. Students from underrepresented populations with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and who are in college preparatory curriculum are eligible to compete.Please select the link to get more information and an application.          Deadline: February 7

Hagan Scholarship - Basic eligibility requirements: have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, enroll at an eligible four-year college or university, maintain a four year or less graduation schedule, adjusted houshold income reported for Federal Income Tax Purposes must not exceed $85,000. Jodi Shilling Memorial Volleyball Scholarship - up to three (3) $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. Applicants must be a graduating senior, from Wayne County, enrolled in a higher educational institution, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, strong moral character, responsible work ethic, and participation in community and/or extracurricular activities. Financial need may be considered. Applicants must have participated in volleyball all four years of high school.  Select the link for an application.  Deadline: March 15

KNR Robert Redick Memorial Scholarship - One $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to students pursing higher education. Select the appropriate links for more information and an application.  Deadline: March 31

LEADS Scholarship Program - there are over 125 scholarships available. These scholarships are available for Ohio high school graduates. Please go to the website to get more information on the program and scholarship.          Deadline: April 7  

Lester Marrison Teacher Education Book Grant - a $1,000 book grant will be awarded to a student who is pursing a degree in education and attending an accredited Ohio college. The selection criteria includes: applicant must be a graduating senior currently enrolled in a school district in the Northeast Region of the Ohio School Boards Association, and have plans to major in teacher education at an accredited college or university in the state of Ohio, has a 3.0 or greater GPA, demonstrates potential as an educational leader and competent professional, they must demonstrate community involvement and have evidence of good character, as well as, demonstrate a financial need. Mark W. Carrabine Memorial Math Award - $1,000 will be awarded to a student who graduated from a Wayne County, Ohio high school that excels in the field of mathematics. Student mustbe enrolled or enrolling in a two or four year higher educational institution. Select the link for the application.   Deadline: March 15

Nurse.org Healthcare Leaders Scholarship - one $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a student entering or currently pursing an educational program related to nursing or medicine. Students must be at least 17 years old and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Select the following link for more information & an application.  Deadline:  December 31

OAPSE Memorial Scholarship Foundation  - available to any graduating high school senior whose parent or legal guardian is a member in good standing of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE/AFSCME Local 4/AFL-CIO) for one year and who intends to enroll in a full-time degree program in any two or four year accredited university, college, business, technical school or an accredited trade school. At least one scholarship of $2,500 is awarded to a scholarship applicant in each of the ten (10) OAPSE/AFSCME Districts in the state. Ohio Chapter Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. Student must be an Ohio resident and be enrolled in the twelfth grade. Select the link for more information and an application.  Deadline: March 27 by 5:00 pm

Ohio Gas Association Scholarship Foundation - $1,000 annual scholarship which may be renewed up to three additional years. Scholarships are limited to undergraduate college studies, technical or trade school programs. Criteria: must be a US citizen or legal resident, must have a career goal in the natural gas industry or related energy field, must be an Ohio resident attending or planning to attend an accredited Ohio college, university, technical, or trade school and must have and maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Ohio JCI Senate Charitable and Education Foundation Scholarship - there are two categories to choose from: Category 1 is academic based and Category 2 is need based. Applicants can only submit an application in one category. You must mark which category you wished to have your application judged. There are two academic based scholarships: 1st place is $1,000 and 2nd place is $1,000. There are three (3) need based scholarships. Each winner will received $1,000. Ohio-Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools Leads! Scholarship - they offer 133 scholarships for graduating high school sneiors. These scholarships range in value from $500 - $8,000 and available to Ohio and Michigan high school seniors. Ohio Newspapers Foundation Minority Journalism Scholarship - one $750 scholarship will be awarded to an Ohio high school senior planning to major in journalism, advertising, marketing, communications or another related field. Ohio Natural Energy Foundation - $1,000 annual scholarship which may be renewed up to four years. Criteria: you must be a U.S. citizen, must have a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry, must be an Ohio resident or attending or planning to attend an accredited Ohio college, university, technical or trade school, and you must have and maintain a gpa of 2.5 or higher. PB & J Scholarship - two (2) $1000 scholarship for students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but still have the drive to succeed. Open to high school seniors attending an accredited 2 or 4 year college in the United States. To apply, you need to complete the application, forward a transcript and 2 letters of recommendation. Phi Delta Kappa Prospective Educator Scholarship Program - scholarship awards range from $500 -$4,000. Applicants must be in good standing in one of the following associations: Educators Rising, Educators Rising Collegiate, Phi Lamba Theta or PDK Association, pursuing a career in public education, and enrolled, full time or part time, in an institution of higher education for the fall semester of the application year. Quota of Wayne County Scholarship -  individuals must be a resident of Wayne County, expect to be a full-time student within five months of receiving the award, pursing a degree at an accredited college (no less than an associate degree or similar vocational post-secondary course of training at an accredited institution), and admitted to an accredited college or university. This club has a special interest in helping students pursuing a career in speech or hearing or a related field. Rove Pest Control Scholarship - one $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student staring college in the fall of their graduation year and has a minimum 3.0 GPA. Please review the link for more information and the application.    Deadline: December 31

The Clinton E. Missler Agri-Scholarship - Awarded annually to a current resident of Wayne County who is furthering his/her education in agriculture, farm economics, animal husbandry, animal nutrition & research, or soil & water conservation. The applicant must submit a high school transcript, college aptitude test results (if available), and a statement of 300 words or less stating why the applicant feels he/she should be considered for the scholarship. The Edward, Arlene, & Kaye Maibach Wayne County Scholarship - one or more minimum $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to Wayne County seniors enrolled in college on a full-time basis (12 or more credit hours), have a 3.0 GPA, and financial need. Applicants must submit an essay not to exceed 300 words stating why you should be considered for the scholarship. Select the link for an application.  Deadline: March 16

Victor Gerber Memorial Music Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship will be granted a a senior graduating from a Wayne County high school that demonstrates academic achievement, participation in music activities and leadership, and who will begin post-secondary education in the fall of 2023. Applicants are required to complete an application form, an essay response, provide a letter of recommendation from a school music teacher or private instructor, and provide an official transcript. Wayne County Community Federal Credit Union Scholarship - three $50 scholarships will be awarded. You or a member of your household must be a member of the Wayne County Community Federal Credit Union to apply. Wayne County Farm Bureau Scholarship - is awarding up to $5,000 in scholarships to high school seniors. Students must meet the following criteria:  a resident of Ohio and a member or your parents are a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau. Wooster Community Hospital Auxiliary - is awarding five (5) $1,500 scholarships to Wayne County Seniors interested in pursuing education in the hospital healthcare field. Select the link for more information and the application.     Deadline:  April 15

Society of Women Engineers Scholarship - for students studying community college, baccalaureate, or graduate programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, or fields related to engineering.
